To encourage focused immersion in relevant Catalyst Conference topics, in-depth ½ day and full day workshops delve into new technologies, solutions or simply brush up in certain technology areas. Free Consultations with Burton Group Analysts or Consultants
Each year Catalyst Conference attendees have the opportunity to sign up for a 30-minute
complimentary consultation (a $500 value) with a Burton Group analyst or consultant.
Catalyst Conference is the only time each year that all Burton Group experts are
gathered under one roof. Take advantage of this rare onsite knowledge powerhouse
to ask questions and get the valuable information you need. Regardless of your question,
Burton Group will do what it takes to address your specific issue. Your free, private
session gives you the opportunity to confidentially address the topic of your choice.
Discuss problems with current products, plans for future products/architectures,
reports by Burton experts (and speak with their authors), IT strategy, interoperability
issues, or any other topic. Or ask questions about Reference Architecture or any
other resource offered by Burton Group.
Approximately three weeks prior to the conference, registered Catalyst Conference attendees will receive a registration form (via e-mail) for a complimentary consultation session on-site at Catalyst Conference.

User-Centric Identity Management Interoperability Demonstration

Burton Group is spearheading a user-centric identity management interoperability
demonstration to prove disparate identity management systems can interoperate to
serve consumers and enterprise application needs.
Participants include projects groups Bandit Project, Eclipse Higgins Project, Internet2 Shibboleth Project, The Pamela Project, Ian Brown (OpenInfoCard), XMLDAP, and SocialPhysics and vendors BMC Software, CA, FuGen Solutions, IBM, Microsoft, NetMesh, Novell, Nulli Secundus, Oracle, Ping Identity, Sxip Identity, VeriSign, and WSO2.

The Concordia Project is hosting a free workshop June 26 at Burton Group Catalyst Conference. Concordia is a cross-industry initiative formed by members of the identity community to drive harmonization and interoperability among identity initiatives and protocols. This meeting will focus on gathering and refining use cases for prioritization of rapid interoperability efforts, with presentations from AOL, Boeing, the Government of British Columbia, GM, and the US GSA. Seven vendors demonstrate interoperability of XACML 2.0, the authorization standard
optimized for federated environments. In the demo, transactions for a stock portfolio
are coordinated and approved by a customer and account manager. Each vendor’s implementation
exchanges policies with others, and policy enforcement points request authorization
decisions from one another.

WS-I: Interoperable Secure Web Services Demonstration

Governance Approaches for Identity Management

Abstract: Effective governance is a vital component to a successful
IdM deployment. However, building an IdM governance team, assigning responsibilities,
identifying key objectives, and creating actionable tasks can be overwhelming. In
this special interest group session Burton Group will moderate an open discussion
on IdM governance issues including establishing effective governance teams, obtaining
executive level support, engaging line-of-business owners, identifying IdM project
pitfalls, and creating best practices based on customer case studies.
